This is a review which is LONG overdue, but it's a hardship that has been heavy on my heart, and I think others need to know about this con of a repair shop!Around January of 2023, my family brought our SUV into this shop to have the transmission repaired, to the tune of $4000, with a 1 year warranty. A couple weeks after getting our vehicle back, the transmission seemed to be having issues, so we brought it back to have it inspected, and were told nothing was wrong. Just a few short weeks after that my father, the vehicle's owner and who paid for the repairs, passed away, shorty after which the transmission failed entirely! In rush hour traffic no less! I had the car towed back to the shop to have it repaired under that warranty, only to be told it was the radiator which had ruined the newly "repaired" transmission, requiring repairs in excess of another $3000!!Upon receiving this information, I told the shop owner that I felt taken advantage of, to which he replied he wouldn't touch my vehicle moving forward. So much for that warranty, huh? We had to have the vehicle towed back home, and when we received my late father's SUV, the engine was literally in pieces on the passenger seat. They didn't even have the decency to put it back together before letting it be towed out of their shop!I recognize this review is about a year and a half late, but as I was remembering my late father the somber memory of my experience with Gear Head Automotive & Transmission comes to mind. I hope no one else has been scammed by them in this time, and I hope no one gets scammed moving forward. Please take your car and your money anywhere else!!!
